You Can Make A Difference!
Be A Cancer Hero Today
You can make a difference and give the gifts of Hope & Time. Here's how you can help support our work and the patients we serve:
- Donate: Help fight cancer with your ONE TIME gift or RECURRING donation. If you prefer to send a check please send it payable to Lazarex Cancer Foundation, PO Box 741, Danville, CA 94526.
- Recurring Gifts provide a source of revenue that we can count on and allow for the planned growth of the number of patients we can financially assist. You can opt out at any time.
- Legacy Gifts: Cancer steals life. Give life as part of your legacy through the Lazarex Cancer Foundation "Circle of Life." Contact Pam Clemmons, Donor Relations, at 415.518.3430 or pclemmons @lazarex.org.
- Gifts of Stock: Donating stock and mutual fund shares are a great way to support Lazarex Cancer Foundation and offer a number of valuable financial benefits. Contact Babette Stewart, Financial Manager, at 925.588.7023 or bstewart@lazarex.org.
Another Reason To Give: CARES Act 2020 tax benefits for cash charitable gifts to Lazarex Cancer Foundation
The recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act can boost your charitable giving. Under the new law, for those of you who do not itemize your deductions, you can now deduct an additional $300 per taxpayer for an annual charity contribution. It is an “above the line” adjustment to income that will reduce your adjusted gross income (AGI), and thereby reduce taxable income. It applies to cash gifts made this year by check or credit card to qualified charities.
Please ask your employer to match your gift. Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Why Lazarex? What Makes Us Unique?
Lazarex is the only 501(c)(3) public charity that does what we do. We focus on helping patients with all types of cancer, of all ages, from all walks of life. We promote early stage diagnosis to increase survival, especially for the medically underserved. We remove the barriers to clinical trial participation for advanced stage patients seeking life through FDA clinical trials. For these patients Lazarex is literally their last line of defense. Our Why: Matthew's Story
From Matthew’s Mom: "Here are few photos of Matt. The first was during frontline treatment, the second a couple years ago with his Beads of Courage and the last one more recent. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with Beads of Courage but kids get a bead for every procedure/surgery/dose treatment (each a different color) to string together – Matt’s chain is over 20 feet long and I did an abbreviated version!
Warrior Matthew (11) has been battling Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma for most of his life, he was diagnosed just before his 3rd birthday in 2011. After numerous relapses through the years, he’s finally NED (no evidence of disease) and doing well thanks to cutting edge immunotherapy trials available exclusively at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Clinic in New York.
Lazarex has made a huge difference in our ability to access latest cancer treatment options for our child. As a family, we were able to commit to this year long trial knowing we had help with the travel costs."
